Solidgold Soundlabs Superdrive

This is an early example (2008) of the Solidgoldfx Superdrive, in the orange paint and with just three controls (Volume, Presence and Drive). Despite the simple controls, this is not a simple device under the hood. The controls interact both with each other and with your guitar's controls to produce an almost organic overdrive experience.

 The Volume control when turned down will reduce the guitar's volume a little, but most of the travel will boost the signal, pushing your amp. The Gain pushes further, adding a wide range of overdrive from a slight break up to a full-on overdriven sound. The Presence becomes more active as the Gain increases. 

Despite the significant tonal range, the pedal never seems to lose clarity. 

The box contains instructions dating from 2008 (pictured) along with warranty documentation and a business card from a Solidgoldfx representative. The pedal requires a 9-volt battery or a 9-volt, centre-negative adapter (not included).

When new, the retail price was £129 (remember, this was 2008) putting this pedal firmly in the boutique/professional market. We think it still belongs there.
